The project is a proposal of a preliminary design of rehabilitation for the contest promoted by Sociedad Pública Navarra de Suelo y Vivienda, S.A. or NASUVINSA. The contest takes into account the architectural and environmental quality of the proposal, as well as the technical and economic feasibility, in order to adopt it as a model to be developed in the set of buildings included in the considered area of the contest.
The objective of the project is to define the optimal interventions in order to improve the energetic behaviour of the building, and the habitability conditions of the residents.
The proposal consists of a series of actions on the envelope of the building, in order to improve the energy performance of the dwellings undergoing rehabilitation. The measures taken are aimed at reducing energy demand through the incorporation of insulation and eliminate the thermal bridges, while improving the living conditions of residents, optimizing the capture of solar radiation and the ventilation of the spaces.
All decisions are conditioned by the current urban planning regulations, and complementary environmental analyses, such as climate studies, and solar & shadow studies. The proposed actions have been evaluated with DesignBuilder, a world-renowned energy simulation program, performing thermal behaviour analysis of the building, which are complemented with economic savings estimations in order to choose the optimal solution for the buildings.
The Renewal Plan consists of two phases. The first phase is carried out within the framework of the contest, and the second phase includes interventions to be made in the future. The first phase prioritizes interventions focused on passive elements, such as the envelope, valuing the renovation and/or replacement of damaged elements. The current building conditions are also considered in order to customize and adapt the interventions to the real needs of the building and its residents in the short and long term.
